3M AccuGlide 3 upper/lower taping heads, available in two and three inch versions, are engineered for conveyor speeds of up to 100 ft. per minute and are typically mounted onto 3M-Matic case sealers, although they can also be adapted for other case sealing equipment or custom setups. These heads enable easy and precise case sealing with a curvilinear design that applies tape securely while minimizing impact to light cartons and contents. The heads are specifically designed to apply a C clip of Scotch box sealing tape and can seal center seams at speeds of up to 40 cases per minute. During operation, a regular slotted container placed on the conveyor is moved onto the drive belts of a 3M-Matic case sealer, allowing the 3M AccuGlide 3 taping head to apply Scotch pressure sensitive film box sealing tape along the leading edge and across the center seam to the trailing end, effectively performing a "C" clip application while cutting the tape simultaneously. Typically, two taping heads function in pairs to seal both seams of a case, and they can be configured for upper and lower installations or mounted to seal cases lying on their side.
