The Outback® 185 is a portable welder/generator that features DC stick welding and AC generator output, making it ideal for service trucks, fence contractors, maintenance crews, farmers, and ranchers. This compact unit includes Low-Lift™ grab bars on both ends for easy lifting on and off truck beds and has all engine controls conveniently located on the front control panel, including an electric start switch and engine choke control. It is built with a 1-1/4 in. (32 mm) diameter rugged tube frame for sturdy protection and easy truck mounting, and it features a large 6.8 gallon (25.7 liter) fuel tank for extended run times and easy re-fueling access. The Outback® 185 can weld with up to 5/32 in. (4 mm) stick electrode, providing up to 185 amps of DC output suitable for various applications. It also delivers 5,700 watts peak AC generator power (5,200 watts continuous) to power work lights, grinders, pumps, and motors, and it allows for use with Lincoln Electric POWER MIG® 140C or POWER MIG® 180C for wire welding, or a Lincoln Electric Tomahawk® 375 Air for cutting metal. Additional features include an automatic engine idler for improved fuel economy and engine life, as well as a combination muffler/spark arrestor that virtually eliminates spark emissions.
