The closed upright assembly includes all the parts needed for one side of an 8000 series closed shelving unit, allowing you to convert an existing add-on unit into a starter or to build your own section of shelving. Each assembly consists of two T-post uprights made of durable hot-rolled 16-gauge steel with spot welded side panels constructed from 24-gauge steel. The uprights feature 1-1/16-inch long parallel slots punched to fit shelf clips, enabling adjustable shelving on 1-1/2-inch centers, with one of each pair of slots shaped as a keyhole to bolt on cross braces and other accessories. The powder coat paint finish protects the steel uprights from everyday use, making this industrial metal shelving suitable for warehouse or commercial applications. For assembly, it is recommended to install the uprights plumb and level, then anchor them to the floor and/or wall using the upright-to-floor angle and concrete wedge anchors to prevent tipping and maximize weight capacity, with the addition of a back panel or cross brace to prevent lateral sway.
