The recessed mounted 4C horizontal mailboxes, manufactured by Salsbury Industries to USPS-STD-4C specifications and U.S.P.S. approved, are ideal for apartments, commercial buildings, and residential developments, and are required for new construction and major renovations. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use, these units are constructed of heavy-duty aluminum with stainless steel hardware. The doors include a heavy-duty cam lock with a dust/rain shield and are supplied with 3 keys. Door dimensions vary by model: MB1 doors measure 3-1/4" H x 13-1/4" W, MB2 doors 6-3/4" H x 13-1/4" W, MB3 doors 10-1/4" H x 13-1/4" W, and MB4 doors 13-3/4" H x 13-1/4" W. The U.S.P.S. standard 4C requires a minimum of one parcel locker for every five tenant compartments, with parcel lockers being at least 15" H to meet this 1:5 ratio, after which smaller parcel lockers may be added. The outgoing mail compartment includes a U.S.P.S. master lock access door (installed by the U.S.P.S.) used exclusively for carrier access and cannot be used for mail distribution, as well as a 10-3/4" W x 3/4" H mail slot with a weather protection hood. The units include factory-installed 3/4" W x 1/4" D trim and a solid rear cover, and come with a 4C horizontal mailbox connector kit and hardware to easily connect multiple recessed mounted 4C horizontal mailbox units.
