The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1-1/4 x close NPT male and is constructed from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This chrome plated red brass nipple is designed for enhanced machinability, reduced brittleness, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, which eliminates the risk of dezincification. The brass material provides excellent corrosion resistance against water, heat, saltwater, acids, and minerals found in peaty soils. While primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, this product is also applicable in oil, gas, and steam systems. Additionally, chrome plated brass nipples are favored for their easy cleaning properties, resistance to dirt and bacteria accumulation, and ability to maintain a shiny finish.
