The HSS taper shank drill is designed for general-purpose applications, ideal for drilling holes in a variety of normal steels, cast iron, and both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys. It features a right-hand (clockwise rotation) cutting direction and a standard two-flute design with normal spiral-helical flutes, a standard 118° point angle, and shanks sized according to standard and special size Morse taper standards that correspond to the drill diameter. The flutes are proportional to the length of the drill, ensuring optimal performance and extended tool life. This tool is manufactured from high-speed steel, and it is cylindrically ground with a black finish. Suitable lubricating or cutting oils or appropriate coolant fluids are recommended for most drilling operations, and the drill is available in a wide range of diameters and lengths.
