The general purpose HSS drills are designed for drilling holes in various normal steels, cast iron, and a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys, suitable for diverse drilling applications and conditions. These drills feature taper shanks sized according to the standard Morse taper sizes to ensure optimal performance and extended tool life. It is recommended to use suitable lubricating or cutting oils, as well as appropriate coolant fluids, for most drilling operations. The drills are available in a wide range of diameters and lengths, featuring right-hand (clockwise rotation) cutting direction, a standard two-flute design, and normal spiral helical flutes, complemented by a standard 118° point angle. The Morse taper shanks correspond to the drill diameter available, and the flutes are proportional to the length. Technically, these drills are manufactured from high-speed steel, are cylindrically ground, and come with a black finish.
