The kit includes single piece housings made of impact resistant polycarbonate and features silver plated solid copper contacts. It is designed with a self-cleaning contact mechanism to resist arcing and has contacts with flared and heat-treated barrels for easy acceptance of fine stranded wire, ensuring a consistent contact. Mechanical keys within the housing prevent the mating of different color connectors, thereby avoiding mismatching of voltages. Integral stainless steel springs are incorporated to maintain constant pressure on the contact, ensuring a reliable, low resistance connection. Additionally, auxiliary contacts provide a secondary circuit connection. The assembly consists of a one-colored housing with two tips.
