The 3M™ Flap Disc 577F is designed for tough grinding applications where a fine finish is essential. This flap disc features overlapping layers of abrasive-coated, fiber-reinforced flaps that continually wear away to expose fresh abrasive mineral, ensuring a fast and consistent cut while providing a blended finish. It includes a grinding aid that helps to reduce temperatures during processes involving heat-sensitive materials such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium. The flap discs are compatible with right angle grinders and the giant size variant offers the same diameter as standard flap discs but is equipped with wider flaps, containing 25% more abrasive material for a more aggressive cut and longer lifespan. The discs provide a one-step alternative to bonded wheels and fiber discs, effectively grinding and finishing in a single operation, which is both time and cost-efficient. Under typical conditions, these discs produce a finish one grade finer than that of a fiber disc of the same grade, while their design allows them to last significantly longer than standard discs.
