The 3M Flap Disc 577F is designed for tough grinding applications where achieving a final finish is crucial. It features overlapping layers of flaps that continually wear away with use, exposing fresh abrasive mineral for a fast, consistent cut while providing a cushioned blended finish. These flap discs generate a finish one grade finer than that of a fiber disc of the same grade, reducing the number of finishing steps needed. Additionally, a grinding aid incorporated into the disc reduces grinding temperatures, making it suitable for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium. Designed for use with a right angle grinder, giant size flap discs have the same diameter as standard flap discs but include wider flaps that hold 25% more abrasive material, resulting in a more aggressive cut and extended lifespan.
