The Modine 86000 BTU steam or hot water unit heater features an explosion-proof motor and a horizontal hydronic design, specifically the HSB86 model. It includes horizontal airflow and top and bottom steel female pipe connections, allowing for 360° rotation without the need for piping changes. The unit is constructed with copper tubes and aluminum fins, adjustable louvers, a balanced fan, a fan guard, and a motor with an electrical junction box. The design incorporates a 2-piece casing to facilitate easy access to the coil, while the HSB models come with tapped holes for suspension via threaded rod or an optional pipe hanger adapter kit. Its serpentine copper tube coil design provides high resistance to thermal shock, even under high steam pressures, and the absence of coil headers reduces the potential for leaks while increasing the coil face area without enlarging the unit size. The coil has been engineered for higher water carrying capacity with lower friction loss. The unit is CSA certified and manufactured in the U.S.A., with a 1-year limited warranty.
