The R6 Polyiso insulation in the curb and cover is designed to help reduce energy costs, featuring a curb and cover constructed from 11 gauge weather-resistant, mill finish aluminum and an 18 gauge cover liner, along with a continuous EPDM gasket. It incorporates counterbalanced springs and a locking hold-open arm, enabling single-handed operation of the cover while allowing the operator to maintain three points of contact with the ladder. The indented Diamond Grip™ design aids in securing the roofing membrane and backer rod for easier installation. Additionally, the hardware is zinc-plated, which includes inside and outside handles as well as padlock hasps, and the assembly has been tested to withstand 50 PSF wind uplift.
