The Field Controls 10 Gas Vent Damper GVD-10PL is designed to automatically manage natural draft during appliance operation while preventing the escape of residual heat and conditioned air during off cycles, as well as block cold air infiltration from down drafts. Constructed from stainless steel, this vent damper is installed in the vent pipe, post-draft hood or barometric device. During off cycles, the damper remains closed to block airflow, and when heat is called for, the motor activates to rotate the damper 90 degrees to an open position, completing the cycle in approximately 15 seconds. Once fully open, flue gases can pass freely, and upon thermostat satisfaction, the burner ceases, prompting the damper to close automatically. The device includes safety features such as dual safety switches that ensure the burner operates solely when the damper is open, without interfering with existing safety controls when installed correctly. It is compatible with all 24 VAC, 60Hz intermittent ignition and standing pilot ignition systems, while its stainless steel construction provides enhanced corrosion resistance. The damper's operational efficiency includes a power-open and power-close function in 15 seconds, with the damper motor powered off during rest. For servicing, a hold open switch allows the damper to remain open for troubleshooting, and a keyed wiring harness connector plug ensures proper installation.
