The relay and control kit features reversing drum controls that include forward-off-reverse positions and 6 stationary, maintained contacts. It showcases an attractive grey power-coated finish with a one-piece heavy gauge pressed steel metal frame, also in grey. The top covers are formed from cold-rolled steel and lined with Nomex for added durability. Wiring diagrams are provided for ease of installation, and the end covers are fabricated from steel, formed with a flange to maximize protection against dust and moisture. The rotor contacts are made of hard rolled copper, securely attached to a steel rod covered by Bakelite tubing for optimal insulation, while all finger contacts are cold forged copper. Arc shields and finger boards are constructed from laminated Bakelite, and the design incorporates spring, roller, and cam action to prevent "arching" and "burning" of contacts. The construction is corrosion protected, and the unit is operated by hand. Most parts are readily available and easily replaceable, and the product is proudly made in the USA.
