The Interlake Tear Drop Pallet Rack Beams are the essential horizontal components of the pallet rack system designed for effective load placement. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of 16-gauge steel with a continuous seam weld at the base, these beams are available for use with both Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames. Each load level comprises two beams, positioned at each post of the frame, and features welded end plates that securely slot into the Tear Drop upright frame. The beams include safety, sprung-loaded locking devices for each beam to ensure stability, with a piston lock connection that automatically seats and locks, preventing accidental displacement. The dimensions of the beams are 2-3/4"W x 1-5/8" and they accommodate cross bars and decking. These slotted profile beams provide 1" interval holes for attaching various accessories, such as wire decks and cross bars, ensuring additional security against sliding or dislodgment. For selecting the appropriate load beam length, it is recommended to add a minimum of 10" to two pallet widths or 14" to three pallet widths, accounting for any required spacing for pallets with excessive load overhang. The beams are RMI certified and sold in pairs, with each pair capable of supporting the weight of the pallets per level.
