The Interlake Tear Drop Pallet Rack Beams are essential horizontal elements of the pallet rack system designed for efficient load placement. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of 16-gauge steel with a continuous seam weld at the base, these beams are compatible with both Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames. Each load level is supported by two beams positioned at each post of the frame and features welded end plates that slot into the Tear Drop upright frame. The beams are secured in place with two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices per beam, and the piston lock frame-to-beam connection ensures automatic seating and locking to prevent accidental displacement. Measuring 2-3/4" wide by 1-5/8", the Tear Drop step beams can accommodate various accessories such as cross bars and decking, with slotted holes at 1" intervals for versatile accessory attachment. The beams are certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI), and when selecting the appropriate load beam, it's recommended to add a minimum of 10" for two pallet widths or 14" for three pallet widths, considering additional spacing for pallets with excessive load overhang. Each pair of beams is designed to support the weight of the pallets per level, and they are sold in pairs.
