The Interlake Mecalux slotted pallet rack beams serve as the horizontal components of a pallet rack system designed to hold loads. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of 16 GA steel with welded end plates, these beams feature a continuous seam weld on their base. Each load level is established by pairing two beams, one located at each post of the frame. Compatible with both Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames, the beams are equipped with safety, sprung-loaded locking devices that secure each beam in place, preventing accidental displacement. The design includes dimensions of 2-3/4" W x 1-5/8" for the Tear Drop step beams, which also accommodate cross bars and decking. The product is certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI). To properly select the load beam, it is recommended to determine the desired length by adding a minimum of 10" to two pallet widths or 14" to three pallet widths, with additional spacing for pallets that have excessive load overhang. Each pair of beams is sold as a unit, with pricing applicable per pair.
