The Interlake Mecalux slotted pallet rack beams are the horizontal components of the pallet rack system designed for load placement, constructed from a single roll formed piece of steel featuring a continuous seam weld at the base. Each load level is established using two beams, one positioned at each post of the frame. These Tear Drop pallet rack beams are compatible with both Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames. The beams are made from 16 ga roll formed steel and incorporate welded end plates that slot into the face of the Tear Drop upright frame. They are secured in place by two safety, sprung loaded locking devices per beam, ensuring a piston lock frame-to-beam connection that automatically seats and locks, thereby preventing accidental beam displacement. The dimensions of the beams are 2-3/4" x 1-5/8", making them suitable for accommodating cross bars and decking. Additionally, these beams are certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI). To select the appropriate load beam length, it is recommended to add a minimum of 10" to two pallet widths or 14" to three pallet widths, with additional spacing as necessary for pallets with excessive load overhang, ensuring that each pair of beams can adequately support the weight of the pallets per level.
