The Interlake Mecalux slotted pallet rack beams are essential horizontal components of the pallet rack system designed to support loads effectively. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of 16-gauge steel with welded end plates, these beams feature a continuous seam weld at their base and are designed to work with either Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted or welded upright pallet rack frames. Each load level requires two beams, one at each post of the frame, and is secured using two safety sprung-loaded locking devices per beam to prevent accidental displacement. The dimensions of the Tear Drop step beams are 2-3/4" wide by 1-5/8" tall, accommodating cross bars and decking. The beams are Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI) certified, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety. When selecting a load beam, it is recommended to add a minimum of 10" to the total width of two pallets or 14" for three pallets, with extra spacing for pallets with significant overhang. Each pair of beams is sold together and must be capable of supporting the weight of the pallets for optimal performance.
