The Interlake Mecalux slotted pallet rack beams serve as the horizontal components of the pallet rack system, designed to support loads. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of steel, these beams feature a continuous seam weld at their base. Each load level requires two beams, one at each post of the frame, and they are compatible with both Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames. The 16-gauge roll-formed beams come equipped with welded end plates that slot into the face of the Tear Drop upright frame, secured by two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices per beam to prevent accidental displacement. The piston lock frame-to-beam connection automatically seats and locks. The dimensions of the Tear Drop step beams are 2-3/4" x 1-5/8", accommodating cross bars and decking. These beams have been certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI). For proper selection, the load beam length should be determined by adding a minimum of 10" to the total width of two pallets or 14" for three pallets, with additional spacing for pallets with excessive load overhang. Each pair of beams is designed to support the weight of the pallets per level and is sold in pairs.
