The Interlake Mecalux slotted pallet rack beams serve as the horizontal components of the pallet rack system, designed for load placement. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of steel with a continuous seam weld at the base, each load level consists of two beams, one for each post of the frame. These Tear Drop pallet rack beams are compatible with both Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted and welded upright pallet rack frames. They feature 16-gauge roll-formed construction with welded end plates that slot into the face of the Tear Drop upright frame, secured with two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices per beam. The piston lock frame-to-beam connection ensures automatic seating and locking, providing protection against accidental beam displacement. The dimensions of the Tear Drop step beams are 2-3/4" x 1-5/8", accommodating cross bars and decking. Additionally, these beams are Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI) certified. When selecting the load beams, it is important to determine the desired length by adding a minimum of 10" for two pallet widths or 14" for three pallet widths, with extra spacing needed for pallets with excessive load overhang. Each pair of beams must be capable of supporting the weight of the pallets at each level, and the beams are sold in pairs with pricing specified per pair.
