The Interlake Mecalux slotted pallet rack beams serve as the horizontal components of the pallet rack system, designed for load placement, constructed from a single roll-formed piece of steel with a continuous seam weld at the base. Each load level consists of two beams, one positioned at each post of the frame, specifically compatible with Interlake Mecalux Tear Drop bolted or welded upright pallet rack frames. These beams feature 16 ga roll-formed construction with welded end plates that fit into the slots of the Tear Drop upright frame. They are secured in place by two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices per beam, and the piston lock frame-to-beam connection offers automatic seating and locking to prevent accidental beam displacement. The dimensions of the beams are 2-3/4" W x 1-5/8" for the Tear Drop step beams, which also accommodate cross bars and decking. The product is certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI). To select the appropriate load beam, it is advised to add a minimum of 10" to the widths of two pallets or 14" to three pallets, considering additional spacing for pallets with excessive load overhang. Each pair of beams is sold together and must be capable of supporting the specified weight of the pallets per level.
