The Interlake Mecalux slotted pallet rack beams serve as the horizontal elements in a pallet rack system, designed to support loads with durability and stability. Constructed from a single roll-formed piece of 16 ga steel, these beams feature welded end plates that slot into the face of the Tear Drop upright frame, ensuring secure attachment. Each beam is supported by two safety, sprung-loaded locking devices, and employs a piston lock frame-to-beam connection that automatically seats and locks, preventing accidental beam displacement. The dimensions of the Tear Drop step beams are 2-3/4" W x 1-5/8", accommodating cross bars and decking. The beams are certified by the Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (RMI) for compliance with safety standards. When selecting a load beam, it is recommended to determine the desired length by adding a minimum of 10" to two pallet widths or 14" to three pallet widths, with additional spacing considered for pallets with excessive load overhang, while ensuring that each pair of beams can adequately support the weight of the pallets per level.
