The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 3" x 10-11/16" and features VFN grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, designed for removing coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives on wood and metal surfaces. The kit includes abrasive belts available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, ranging from wide belts for large wood panels on wide belt sanders, medium-width belts for edge or portable belt sanders used on cabinet doors or blending wood pieces, to narrow belts for metalworking file tools accessing small areas or inside corners. The aluminum oxide abrasive is a hard, blocky mineral that delivers a high cut-rate and long life, ideal for rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing applications where clogging is an issue, as the abrasive belt grooves open during use to maintain efficiency. Applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and creating a straightline brushed finish, primarily employed in metalworking industries.
