The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 3" x 10-11/16" and is made with CRS grit aluminum oxide. These belts effectively remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Available in various widths and lengths, they are compatible with a wide range of industrial belt sanding tools for applications on both wood and metal. Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts come with a choice of silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure tasks like paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish but wearing faster, while aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral offering a high cut-rate and long service life. These belts are used in sanding and finishing processes where traditional sanding wheels and discs may clog, as the small grooves in the abrasive belt open during operation to prevent clogging. They are suitable for applications including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and straightline brushed finishes, serving industries such as marine and metalworking.
