This retriever is designed to remove a magnetic stirring bar without contacting the vessel's contents, thereby preventing contamination. It eliminates the need for cleaning or autoclaving after use. The device is held in contact with the vessel where the magnetic stirring bar is located and is moved upward, allowing the stirring bar to follow the vessel's interior to a position where it can be easily grasped. The retriever features a magnet located in a 25 x 70 mm (1 x 2-3/4") rectangular section, while a long ribbed handle ensures a secure grip. Constructed from high-density polyethylene, the overall length of the retriever is 20 cm (7.7").
