Idem guard locking switches are designed for robust position interlock detection for moving guards, featuring a lock mechanism that keeps the guard closed until the hazard has been removed. These tongue-operated switches fit the leading edge of sliding or hinged machine guards, offering positively operated switching contacts and a tamper-resistant key mechanism. Depending on the risk assessment, they can operate independently to provide positively operated contacts to EN60947-5-1 or in combination with dual channel safety monitoring relays to achieve up to PLE category 4 per ISO13849-1 or SIL3 EN62061. The switches are available in various materials and housing styles for flexibility in application. Key features include a choice of contact blocks, LED diagnostics, and various actuators that enhance installation and durability in demanding environments such as factory automation, packaging, food processing, pharmaceutical, and petro-chemical industries. They offer 8 actuator entry positions with a rotatable head, 2 lock monitoring safety contacts, a high holding force of 2000N, LED1 for solenoid applied power status, LED2 for guard lock status, and 2 emergency manual release points. The switches have an IP67 rating and dimensions of 46mm wide, 176mm long, and 30mm fixing.
