Idem guard locking switches are engineered to deliver robust position interlock detection for moving guards, featuring a lock mechanism that ensures the guard remains closed until the hazard is eliminated. These tongue-operated devices are designed for installation on the leading edge of sliding or hinged machine guards, offering positively operated switching contacts and a tamper-resistant key mechanism that is not easily bypassed. Depending on the risk assessment, they can function independently to provide positively operated contacts in accordance with EN60947-5-1 or in conjunction with dual channel safety monitoring relays to achieve up to PLE category 4 per ISO13849-1 or SIL3 per EN62061. The switches are available in multiple materials and housing styles, offering complete flexibility for various applications. They come with options for different contact blocks, LED diagnostics, and various actuators to facilitate installation while ensuring durability in demanding environments such as factory automation, packaging, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and petro-chemicals.
