The 3M™ Cloth Belt 707E measures 3 inches by 132 inches and features P100 grit ceramic abrasive grain blended with premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It is constructed with a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that conforms to contours and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or a slack of belt. This belt can be used wet or dry and is ideal for applications on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. To prevent heat-related stress cracks and discoloration on heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, the belt incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is bonded securely to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic abrasive grain is produced via a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness, and the blend with aluminum oxide offers a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic abrasives cut fast and withstand intense heat and stress, with the ceramic/aluminum oxide combination delivering superior cut-rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide abrasives alone. This belt is available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including those designed for wide belts to achieve flat finishing and smooth rough-cut metal edges.
