The 3M™ cloth belt 707E measures 2" x 90" with 80 grit ceramic abrasive and is constructed from a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack belts and capable of wet or dry use. This belt is designed for use on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel for applications such as dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. A grinding aid incorporated into the belt reduces running temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive grain is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic abrasive grain is engineered to enhance toughness and hardness, while the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend offers a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal, fast cutting, and handling intense heat and stress. This combination surpasses aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, making the 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E ideal for moderate stock removal and surface preparation on various metalworking applications. The belts come in multiple widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wider belts designed for wide belt sanders used for flat finishing and smoothing rough cut edges of metal sheet.
