3M™ Cloth Belt 707E 2" x 72" P240 grit ceramic is made with a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. The belt features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and can wrap around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack of belt and allows for wet or dry operation. It is designed for use on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. To protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration, the belt incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin for durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic abrasive grain, developed through a proprietary process to improve toughness and hardness, is blended with aluminum oxide for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suited for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic abrasives are engineered to cut fast and endure intense heat and stress, outperforming aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability. The 2" x 72" belt size is compatible with various belt sanding tools for metalworking applications, offering moderate stock removal and surface preparation capabilities. This product is warranted under 3M's standard warranty terms.
