3M™ Cloth Belt 577F is a 37" x 75" abrasive belt with a 60 grit alumina zirconium grain, designed to provide increased cutting efficiency over traditional aluminum oxide belts. This belt features a heavy, water-resistant polyester backing, making it suitable for high-pressure applications and edge work, while ensuring long life for both wet and dry operations. Recommended for use on aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, and exotic metal alloys, it is ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The grinding aid on the belt helps protect heat-sensitive alloys by reducing running temperatures. The resin-bonded abrasive maintains durability even under high heat and pressure, while the alumina zirconia grain fractures frequently, producing sharp points for a faster cut-rate.
