The 3M™ Cloth Belt 577F measures 6" x 132" and features a 36 grit alumina zirconium abrasive designed for use on aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, and other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The belt includes a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel, and cobalt alloys. The abrasive is resin-bonded to the cloth backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Alumina zirconia fractures frequently, continuously producing sharp points for a faster cut rate compared to aluminum oxide. This synthetic mineral abrasive is specifically developed for heavy stock removal and high-pressure grinding.
