3M™ Cloth Belt 577F measures 3/4" x 18" and is constructed with alumina zirconium abrasive grain, offering increased cutting efficiency compared to aluminum oxide belts. It features a heavy, water-resistant polyester backing that withstands high-pressure applications and edge work, ensuring long life and supporting both wet and dry operations. This cloth belt is suitable for use on aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, and exotic metal alloys, specifically for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. To protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel, and cobalt, the belt incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The resin-bonded abrasive maintains durability under high heat and pressure, and the alumina zirconia material fractures frequently, producing sharp points for a faster cut rate. The abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit a wide range of belt sanding tools and metalworking applications, including flat finishing, weld removal, and accessing right angle corners.
