The 3M™ Cloth Belt 707E measures 3 inches by 132 inches with a P240 grit ceramic abrasive grain blended with premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that contours easily and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack belts, and it can be operated wet or dry. This belt is designed for applications on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel including dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. To prevent heat-related stress cracks and discoloration in heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, the belt incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive grains are resin-bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain is engineered for toughness and hardness through a proprietary process and is blended with aluminum oxide to provide faster cut rates, longer life, and improved performance for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation. The abrasive belt is part of a broad selection designed to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wider belts for wide belt sanders used in flat finishing and smoothing rough cut metal edges.
