The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E measures 3" x 242" with 80 grit ceramic abrasive and is constructed with a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack of belt, and it can be used wet or dry. This belt is designed for applications on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel including dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. The belt incorporates a grinding aid to reduce running temperatures and protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive grain is firmly bonded with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic mineral abrasive grain, produced through a proprietary process, delivers increased toughness and hardness; combined with aluminum oxide, it provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal, fast cutting, and intense heat and stress applications. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend outperforms aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, making it ideal for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. The belt is part of a broad selection available in various widths and lengths designed to fit most industrial belt sanders used for multiple metalworking applications.
