3M™ Cloth Narrow Belt 707E 2" x 132" P180 Grit Ceramic is constructed with a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide, offering enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing designed to easily follow contours and wrap around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or belt slack. The belt can be used wet or dry and is intended for applications on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel, performing tasks such as dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. To protect heat-sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, the belt incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, while the abrasive is resin-bonded to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain is a tough, hard ceramic mineral created through a proprietary process, and the blend with aluminum oxide provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal. This ceramic/aluminum oxide combination outperforms standard aluminum oxide abrasives in both cut rate and durability, making the 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E excellent for moderate stock removal and surface preparation.
