The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E measures 2 inches by 132 inches with P220 grit ceramic abrasive and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It is constructed with a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and is suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack of belt, functioning well in both wet and dry conditions. This belt is designed for applications involving stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel, supporting dimensioning, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. A grinding aid incorporated into the belt reduces running temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic abrasive grain, created through a proprietary process to improve toughness and hardness, is blended with aluminum oxide to create a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal, offering fast cutting and resistance to intense heat and stress. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend outperforms standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making the 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E suitable for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. Available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, the 2" x 132" belt specifically supports metalworking applications requiring precise finishing, such as smoothing rough edges and flat finishing, with wider belts available for wide belt sanders.
