3M™ Cloth Belt 577F measures 4" x 118" and features an 80 grit alumina zirconium abrasive, specifically recommended for use on aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, and other exotic metal alloys in applications such as dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. This belt includes a grinding aid which assists in protecting heat-sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by reducing running temperatures. The abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin, ensuring durability under high heat and pressure conditions. Alumina zirconia is designed for heavy stock removal and high-pressure grinding, providing a faster cut-rate than aluminum oxide due to its frequent fracturing, which continually produces sharp points. The belt is compatible with various belt sanding tools and is available in different widths and lengths for diverse metalworking tasks.
