The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E measures 1" x 132" and features P100 grit ceramic abrasive grain blended with premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It is constructed on a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and can wrap around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack of belt applications, and can be used wet or dry. This belt is ideal for stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel during dimensioning, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. It includes a grinding aid to reduce running temperatures, protecting heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic mineral grain is engineered to provide toughness and hardness, while the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend improves cut rate and longevity, ensuring fast cutting, heat resistance, and suitability for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation. The belt complies with industrial standards for metalworking and is extensively used on various belt sanding tools across different metalworking applications.
