The 3M™ cloth belt 577F measures 2" x 132" with a 50 grit alumina zirconium abrasive ideal for aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, and other exotic metal alloys, used in dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The belt features a grinding aid to reduce running temperatures, protecting heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. The alumina zirconia abrasive fractures frequently to produce sharp points, providing a faster cut rate than aluminum oxide, and is firmly bonded to the resin-backed cloth for durability under high heat and pressure. The belts come in various widths and lengths, compatible with a range of belt sanding tools for multiple metalworking applications, including centerless and cylindrical grinding, descaling, finishing, flat finishing, gate removal, high pressure grinding, intermediate finishing, mill scale removal, parting line removal, plate grinding, shaping, and sheet grinding.
