The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E measures 2" x 48" with a P220 grit ceramic abrasive grain blended with premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack of belt applications and can be used wet or dry. This belt is designed for stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel, ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. A grinding aid incorporated into the belt helps reduce running temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel, and cobalt from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing to maintain strength under high heat and pressure. The ceramic abrasive grain, created with a proprietary process, enhances toughness and hardness, and when blended with aluminum oxide, provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation. This belt outperforms standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability and is suited for industrial belt sanders in various widths and lengths, with wider belts used for flat finishing and smoothing rough metal edges.
