The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E measures 2 inches by 72 inches with P180 grit ceramic abrasive and is constructed with a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with a soft contact wheel or slack belt, and it can be used wet or dry. This belt is designed for stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel applications including dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. To protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration, it incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive grains are firmly bonded to the backing with resin to ensure durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic abrasive grain is produced using a proprietary process to enhance the toughness and hardness of the grain, while the aluminum oxide blend increases performance, making the belt harder and longer-lasting. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend offers superior cut-rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide alone, making the belt ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation, capable of handling intense heat and stress applications. This belt is compatible with various belt sanding tools and widths, fitting most industrial belt sanders for metalworking tasks.
