The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E, sized 1" x 72" with P120 grit ceramic abrasive, is constructed using a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that contours easily and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or belt slack, and it can be used wet or dry. This belt is designed for applications on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel, including dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. To protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-induced stress cracks and discoloration, a grinding aid incorporated into the belt reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin, ensuring durability under high heat and pressure. The proprietary ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, while the ceramic and aluminum oxide blend provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation, outperforming standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability. This belt is suitable for various belt sanding tools, with wider belts available for wide belt sanders designed for flat finishing and smoothing rough-cut edges of metal.
