The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E, sized 6" x 89" with P220 grit ceramic abrasive, is constructed using a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and can wrap around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or with slight slack. The belt can be used both wet or dry. It is designed for use on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel for applications including dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. The belt includes a grinding aid to reduce running temperatures and protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive is resin bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic abrasive grain is specially engineered using a proprietary process to enhance grain toughness and hardness; blending ceramic grain with aluminum oxide provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal, cutting fast, and handling intense heat and stress. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend outperforms aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, making the 707E belt an excellent choice for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit a variety of belt sanding tools for metalworking applications and are suitable for wide belt sanders to smooth rough-cut metal edges.
