The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E measures 6 inches by 48 inches with P220 grit ceramic abrasive, constructed from a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack of belt, and it can be used wet or dry. The belt is designed for use on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. A grinding aid incorporated on the belt reduces running temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive is firmly bonded with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic abrasive grain is developed using a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness, and the aluminum oxide blend increases performance, making it harder and longer-lasting. This abrasive is engineered for moderate to heavy stock removal, cutting fast and handling intense heat and stress applications while surpassing traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability. The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E is ideal for moderate stock removal and surface preparation and is available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wider belts designed for wide belt sanders used for flat finishing and smoothing rough-cut edges of metal.
