The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E measures 6" x 90" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It is constructed with a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and can wrap around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack belts, and it can be used wet or dry. Intended for use on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel, this belt is ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. To protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration, a grinding aid is incorporated to reduce running temperatures. The abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain is designed using a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness, and is blended with aluminum oxide for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic abrasives cut fast and handle intense heat and stress applications, outperforming aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability.
