The 3M™ cloth belt 340D 37" x 75" P220 grit aluminum oxide is an open coat premium grade aluminum oxide cloth belt designed for durability and aggressive stock removal, suitable for wide belt sanding, edge sanding, or portable belt sanding on wood and metal. It features fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable cotton cloth backing that provides continuous cut and long life. The belt's open coat and load-resistant coating make it ideal for sanding soft woods, and its washable backing supports high production environments by enabling removal of resin or pitch buildup. The aluminum oxide mineral offers durability, high cut-rate, and long life across a wide variety of materials, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles adhere strongly to the cloth backing with resin, allowing the belt to withstand high heat and pressure. Available in different widths and lengths to fit a variety of belt sanding tools, wider belts are suited for wide belt sanders used in dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal sheet edges, medium-width belts fit edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces like panel edges, and narrow belts are used in portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The belt includes a film media splice that securely bonds the belt ends with a joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure a smooth operation.
