3M™ Cloth Belt 577F measures 2" x 48" and features an 80 grit alumina zirconium abrasive, making it suitable for use on aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, and exotic metal alloys for various applications such as dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The belt includes a grinding aid that helps protect heat-sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by reducing running temperatures. It is designed with a firmly bonded resin backing to ensure durability under high heat and pressure, while the abrasive's ability to fracture frequently allows it to maintain sharp cutting points for a faster cut rate compared to aluminum oxide. This synthetic mineral is ideal for heavy stock removal and high-pressure grinding. The abrasive belts can be utilized with a wide range of belt sanding tools across various metalworking applications.
