The 3M™ cloth belt 707E measures 1-1/2" x 60" with P220 grit ceramic abrasive. It is constructed from a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. The belt features a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that conforms easily to contours and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack belts. It can be used both wet or dry. This belt is designed for applications on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel for dimensioning, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. To protect heat-sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration, it incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive grain is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure conditions. The ceramic abrasive grain, developed through a proprietary process, enhances toughness and hardness, and when blended with aluminum oxide provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive well suited for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic abrasives cut fast and handle intense heat and stress applications, outperforming aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability. The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E is available in various widths and lengths to fit a range of industrial belt sanders and is optimal for metalworking applications requiring moderate stock removal and surface preparation.
